The one(s) I go matcha for.
Meet Original, Tropical Mango, and Bombay Chai Matcha Lattes from Sencha Naturals. I was introduced to these company and travel stick packs at the Natural Expo West last year. I’ve been obsessed with these ever since then, and it just dawned on me that I haven’t done my post about these lattes. 🙂
Sencha Naturals was founded on a trip to Asia and the idea of expanding the notion of “drinking green tea.” Founder David Kerdoon worked with tea master, herbalists, and food formulated to create a new take on green tea. Their mission is “’Green Tea for All’ is about making green tea a fun and easy part of your daily routine. Whether you’d rather eat or drink your antioxidants, we believe in getting your green tea fix any way you feel like.” Y’all can definitely see the creative here with their products:
What I love about Sencha Naturals is not only their products, but they socially responsible as well. They are Certified B-Corp, which means they “measure [their] social & environmental impact by transparent standards that extend beyond the traditional road map.” They also use sustainable packaging when possible. Essentially, all their product packaging is recyclable, and they even have 100% biodegradable eco-tube packaging. So inspirational! 🙂
Now let’s talk Matcha! I need to be honest first. For the longest time, I didn’t like matcha. The bitterness and earthiness was too much for me. Then slowly, I was sip from the bf’s drink here and there to develop a taste for it. However, it probably wasn’t until Sencha Naturals that I truly started enjoying the taste of matcha and fully reaping its benefits. 🙂
So what exactly is matcha? In short, matcha is a tea leaf in a powdered form. How is it different from green tea? Traditional green tea is tea leaves infused in water. Thus, matcha is more concentrated and prepared differently. 🙂 Thank goodness for Sencha Natural Matcha Lattes, this eliminates the bamboo whisking action that’s needed to drink matcha tea. 🙂
There are five different flavors of Matcha Lattes:
- Tropical Mango
- Bombay Chai
- Pumpkin Chai
- Cherry Blossom
However, the stick packs only come in Original, Tropical Mango, and Bombay Chai. Let’s break down each flavor.
Original. This one is by far my favorite of the three. It’s classic—with the right amount of sweetness, creaminess, and matchaness. 🙂 I used to carry this stuff everywhere cause I always know a coffee shop is on the agenda on day adventures with the bf, but my supply is running low and I got conserve (if y’all know what I mean). 🙂 It’s definitely easier to use cause there’s no whisking involved. 🙂 It just tastes delish!
Full Ingredients: Organic Coconut Sugar, Organic Coconut Oil, Algae Flour, Organic Matcha Powder, Green Tea & Vanilla Extracts.
Tropical Mango. This one is like a summer and matcha fusion in a glass. I actually like this one better when served iced. It’s a nice treat specially when I’m craving something sweet to drink. 🙂
Full Ingredients: Organic Coconut Sugar, Organic Coconut Oil, Algae Flour, Organic Matcha Powder, Mango & Vanilla Extracts.
Bombay Chai. This one I truly enjoyed during the winter season. It’s been a warm LA winter, and this makes it feel like snowy winter when I sip on this blend. A girl can dream right?!? 🙂
Full Ingredients: Organic Coconut Sugar, Organic Coconut Oil, Algae Flour, Organic Matcha Powder, Chai Blend (Cinnamon, Cardamom, Fennel & Vanilla Extracts).
All three flavors are delish in their own unique way. These can definitely be served hot or iced and are truly travel-friendly. 🙂 I know pumpkin season is over, but I’m definitely eager to check out the Pumpkin Chai, as well as the Cherry Blossom flavor, which is perfect for the upcoming Spring season. 🙂
