The one to discover.

Meet Discovery Box from Biodara.  I’ve been wanting to check out this brand and their goodies for a while now.  So when it was time to finally do so, I knew their Discovery Box was the way to go.  It’s the perfect opportunity to experience a handful of goodies without breaking the bank.  Plus, they’re travel sized and I get to check out the brand’s core products.  I say that’s a win win for me.  🙂

biodara_discovery_box_flatlayThe Biodara Discovery Box includes:

  • Luminous Cleansing Oil, 1oz with Cleansing Cloth
  • Immortal Mist, 1oz
  • Cell Refresh Serum, 8ml
  • Crème de Clay Purifying Mask, 15ml

So let’s start from the very beginning, with their Luminous Cleansing Oil + Cleansing Cloth.  This is such a good cleansing oil, so when I finished the bottle, I was quite sad.  Biodara describes their Luminous Cleansing Oil as a hydrating product, and I can definitely vouch for that.  🙂  Initially, I used this product alone and it removed my everyday makeup and mascara nicely.  It left behind no greasy residue for me and my skin felt to plump and fresh after cleansing.  It wasn’t until about a week later that I remembered it came with a reusable eco-cotton cloth.  Game changer, with the addition of this cloth, my skin feels even better, if that even possible.  🙂  And it’s quite simple to use, as I followed Biodara’s directions.

biodara_luminous_cleansing_oilLuminous Cleansing Oil Direction:

  1. Dispense a few pumps of Luminous Cleansing Oil onto palm. Using fingertips, massage around face and neck using gentle upward, circular strokes.
  2. Wet the cleansing cloth with warm to hot water and wring out the excess. Spread the heated cloth over the face, allowing the pores to open and breathe in the lovely aromatherapy.
  3. With cloth slightly cooled, gently wipe over face, neck and eyes to remove all dirt, oil and make-up.
  4. Place rinsed cleansing cloth on palms and gently wash face with warm water in circular motions.
  5. Final rinse with cool water. Gently pat dry with cotton towel and then spritz with Immortal Mist and follow with Cell Refresh Serum.
  6. Wash in washing machine or wash cloth in hot soapy water and air dry after each use.

biodara_immortal_mistOnto the Immortal Mist.  What can I say, this mist had to grow on me.  🙂  As of now, the smell of Helichrysum is not my most favorite scent, which is infused in this mist.  I really had high hopes for this one cause of this Helichrysum ingredient, which “which is highly regarded for the regeneration of skin tissue and reducing inflammation.”  It may just be me, but I feel like this 1oz size went by way too quick.  I finished this one up before any of the other products.  And when I did finish it, I was just beginning to get used to the smell of Helichrysum.  🙂  Bottom line, this facial mist (or toner) has potential, I just need a full sized bottle to really get into it.  🙂

biodara_cell_refresh_face_serumUp next is their Cell Refresh Face Serum.  I thoroughly enjoyed every drop of this serum.  🙂  It kept my skin looking and feeling rejuvenated and hydrated.  Alone, it’s a wonderful product, but I take it a step further by adding a few drops to my powdered foundation.  🙂  It works so perfectly together and my makeup actually stays on longer.  🙂  This one, too, went by rather quickly.  I used it every morning with foundation and every night as the final step in my nighttime skincare routine.  🙂

Full ingredients: Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis(Jojoba) Oil*, Camellia Sinensis (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Fruit Extract*, Sambucus Nigra (Elderberry) Fruit Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil*, Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Oil*, Citrus Aurantium (Neroli) Oil*, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Oil*.     *Certified Organic

biodara_creme_de_clay_purifying_maskAnd lastly, the Crème de Clay Purifying Mask.  So, I dislike to start with this, but I hate writing about negative thoughts on a product, specially when it’s in a set like this cause I feel like one negative opinion can affect the entire lot.  🙂  But, I’m sorry to say that I was really disappointed with this mask.  Also, I’m kind of a face mask snob, and I’ve tried out many many natural kinds.  So I was most excited to check this one out, cause it contains bentonite cay and roasted bamboo salts.  When I unscrewed its lid, the mask just didn’t look right—it looked, felt, and sounded rubbery.  I couldn’t even apply it to my face.  So sad.  I’m thinking it “dried” up just sitting there for who knows how long, I mean, how does a screwed top container like this keep a face mask fresh?!?  But it was definitely no good and not usable.  Maybe I’ll get a chance another time, there’s always hope.  🙂

Full ingredients: Water, Bentonite (Calcium Montmorillionite), Argentum Metallicum (Silver), Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract*, Ascophyllum Nodosum (Kelp) Extract*, Populus Tremuloides (Aspen Bark) Extract**, Roasted Bamboo Sea Salt, Argania Spinosa Kernel (Argan) Oil*, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil*, Cymbopogon Martinii (Palmarosa) Oil*     *Certified Organic     **ECOCERT Approved
