The one mist with live priobiotics I really put to the test.

Meet, again, AO+ Mist from Mother Dirt.  I say again cause I first introduced y’all to the AO+ Mist about two months ago in my First Look: Mother Dirt AO+ Mist post (check it out).  Now after vigorous testing, I’m ready to tell y’all my verdict with this flagship product from Mother Dirt.

mother_dirt_ao_mist_closeupMother Dirt is a company that is striving to reset our human body living ecosystem.  They want to help us rebalance and restore the good bacteria back into our skin, thus reducing product usage, which reduces water use.  So they’ve formulated a patented live “peacekeeper” bacteria to essentially do all that.  We lived in an age when antibacterial everything ruled the world, but unbeknownst to us we “removed” not only the bad bacteria from our bodies but the good ones as well.  Yikes!  🙂

Now, this is where the AO+ Mist comes in—bring back and protect our innate skin biome (ecosystem).  🙂  This live probiotic spray contains AOB (Ammonia Oxidizing Bacteria), the good source of bacteria that keeps our skin happy and healthy.  Mother Dirt says that these “AOB convert irritating components of our sweat (ammonia & urea) and turn them into byproducts that bring benefits to the skin (Nitrite and Nitric Oxide).  Nitrite helps keep bad bacteria in check and Nitric Oxide is an antioxidant that helps calm and soothe the skin. This action can help restore balance to the skin’s ecosystem and in turn reduce dependence on conventional products like soaps, moisturizers, and deodorants.”  🙂  So they basically love to be in our sweat glands.

This live probiotic spray has been clinically researched according to Mother Dirt.  Their results show that it:

  • Restores balance to dry, oily, and sensitive skin types.
  • Improves skin clarity by 35% in 4 weeks.
  • Improves the look and feel of dry and uneven skin by 35% in 4 weeks.
  • Reduces dependence on products like deodorants, moisturizers, and makeup.

mother_dirt_ao_mist_bubblesIn my First Look: Mother Dirt AO+ Mist post, I mentioned to y’all that I was strictly going to use this live probiotic spray on my underarms only, and that’s exactly what I did.  It was definitely difficult to work this into my normal routine cause in the beginning, I often forgot to spritz it on me.  Because the AO+ Mist contains live probiotics, its use by date is pretty limited.  It comes delivered in an ice pack, so y’all will definitely need to keep this in y’all’s fridges.  And since it’s stored in the fridge, initially, I would forget to grab and spray.  🙂  It took about one week or so to get into the groove of things and not too long after, I started smelling results.  🙂

Just a lil heads up, be sure to spray the AO+ Mist after products used for y’all’s particular area cause Mother Dirt says that “it does more damage to the AOBs to apply something directly on top of them.”  🙂  So that’s exactly what I did—after hopping out of the shower I made sure that my underarms were thoroughly dry.  Then I applied my current same deodorant, which gave me a control standard to compare results with.  (For research sake, the baseline is no deodorant, which result in much stank).  🙂  Within days of consistent use, I definitely noticed a reduction in my end of the day body smell.  I was shocked but absolutely happy.  🙂

Now this were the rigorous testing came into place.  After a month or so, I decided to continue using the same deodorant but stop using the AO+ Mist.  Within days, my end of the day body odor increased again.  Then I decided, for completeness sake, to stop using deodorant and just use the AO+ Mist.  I smelled still.  I really had hopes that I could stop using deodorant all together, but that just isn’t the case for me.  Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for anyone I come in contact with.  🙂

mother_dirt_ao_mist_bigSo the verdict, in my case, is that AO+ Mist does help with my stank and reduce my dependence for deodorants, just not enough to get rid of deodorant use indefinitely.  🙂  I’m so glad I had to the chance to use this product and will continue to use it.  Who knows, maybe one day I can actually stop using deodorants entirely.  I’d definitely love to see and experience the potential of the AO+ Mist on my face and other sweat glands.  🙂  Have y’all used the AO+ Mist before?  Let me know it worked for y’all!  🙂
