The one making a small change to make a big impact.
Meet Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash from Plaine Products. A little discretion: this post was/is long overdue to be posted here on thee blog. But more on that a little later. Many months ago, Plaine Products kindly reached out and asked if I wanted to collaborate with them. After doing some of my own research and checking out the Plaine Products website, I knew I had to jump on board and help spread their mission. 🙂
I love that the #greenbeauty market is consistently growing and evolving, but what sets Plaine Products and their actual products apart of the rest is their unique take on sustainable packaging. They have created a system that allows their bottles to be returned, refilled, and reused. 🙂 How clever and inspiring!!! 🙂
There are way too many single use plastic packaging out there, but Plaine Products is making it easy to change that in the best way they can. Essentially, this is their goal: “When your bottle is empty, we’ll send a refill and you can use that same package to return your empty bottle for free. We’ll clean, sterilize and refill the bottles, then send them back out into the world, creating a loop that has minimal waste. The result: a lot less plastic in our landfills and oceans. Once the bottles have lived out their lives, we’ll turn them all into new bottles to start the cycle once more.” Awesome things are happening y’all and let’s give Plaine Products credit for starting the sustainable packaging revolution. 🙂
Like I said, they’re making it easy for y’all. And here’s how it works:
STEP 1: Order one of our awesome products. It will arrive at y’all’s door in a refillable bottle. Replace lid with pump. Rejoice! Y’all can recycle the shipping box and the extra lid.
STEP 2: When y’all are getting low order a refill bottle. Or subscribe and they’ll send a bottle in a timeframe that works for y’all.
STEP 3: When y’all’s current bottle is empty rinse it out and switch the pump to the refill bottle.
STEP 4: Put the refill’s lid on y’all’s empty bottle and place it in the refill box. If y’all have more than one bottle, make sure the box is full before sending it back. Stick the enclosed return label over the existing shipping label (make sure it’s completely covered), and set it out for y’all’s postal carrier to pick up just like any other letter. Best part: they’ll cover the cost of shipping to send it back!
NOTE: Return shipping labels are only valid for 4 weeks. If y’all aren’t going to use the label within the next 4 weeks contact them so they aren’t charged for the label. When y’all are ready y’all can fill out this form and they’ll email you a new label.
STEP 5: If y’all like our products please tell a friend or consider joining their Plaine Promoter’s ambassador group. Plaine Promoters earn 10% of all sales they help to generate.
Let’s not forget about the products itself. Right now, their line is made for the bathroom (and makes it look pretty too). 🙂 Plaine Products products are made with all natural, organic, nonGMO, and vegan ingredients that help nourish the hair. They carefully select renewable sources as well as nutrient rich and vitamin rich plants and minerals. The Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash are sulfate free, paraben free, and phthalate free. Because there’s no chemicals in their goodies, the actual products are also gentle on the environment too. 🙂 Double winner!
The Shampoo is said to “bring your hair back to life and restore manageability, adding sheen and softness.” It’s perfect for all hair types, hair textures, hair lengths, etc. While the Conditioner contains “natural ingredients [that] restore essential nutrients to enhance your hair’s texture resulting in luminous, silky, smooth hair.” Both smell like the spa, seriously way too good!! 🙂 They have the same scent (along with the Body Wash) and also are enriched with the healing properties of rosemary (which, btw, is great for hair growth) as well as refresh mint scent and essence of vanilla. Y’all the smell allow with convert y’all to Plaine Products! I really can’t get enough of it. 🙂
So remember when I said this post was long overdue, well I blame it on my summer adventures. I started using the shampoo and conditioner right in the middle of a mini family reunion and my trip to Greece. And it never dawned on me to actually take these products with me. I guess I was too caught up on using up my mini travel products (which needed to be done anyway). 🙂
After all that, finally able to sleep in my own bed again is when I was able to commit and consistently use Plaine Product’s Shampoo and Conditioner. Everything was all good, then about a week later, I started noticed my dry scalp resurfacing. Another snag! Could it be?!? Yes it was! So cause I wanted to be completely honest and unbiased about this review; I immediately contacted Plaine Products with my dilemma, and rest assured it was the first of its claims. I was told to “do a quicker (conditioner) rinse.” And it did the trick! 🙂 Nearly one month later, no dry scalp issues over here.
Tangent: so there’s a few points I want to make about it situation:
- When I review product(s), I really go in-depth.
- If I run into a product problem, I go directly to the source and figure out what I’m possibly doing wrong. Brands can have products that intended to be used a certain way.
- I keep my promises, though it may take longer than expected.
Now I didn’t forget about their Body Wash. It “is blended with the finest natural and organic ingredients to gently clean while restoring nutrients and powerful antioxidants to your skin. Daily use improves skin’s tone and texture” says Plaine Products. I absolutely love love love this body wash (and so does the bf). We’ve been checking out other washes and bar soaps, but we both agree that this is top quality stuff. It lathers real nice, and it makes me feel really fresh and clean like a body wash should. 🙂 And it, too, has the same scent profile as the shampoo and conditioner—rosemary, mint, and vanilla. What’s exciting about the scent is, yes, it reminds me of the spa. It’s a well-balanced smell of all three essences and one doesn’t overpower the others. But it’s also like a mystery with each pump cause sometimes I feel like I smell one scent more than the other two whilst still not being overpowering. I hope y’all understand what I mean with that. 🙂
